![]() They were not the counter party in you buying an aftermarket key, they were the counter party for the scammer who bought a key with stolen payment info, and because that transaction was reversed the product key is now invalid. That makes sense on a surface level - a 60 day window or whatever is the limit for most chargebacks, but at the end of the day buying something on a third party marketplace isn't really Ableton's problem. All I'm saying is that I'm disappointed this happened, and to give a warning to other people that are considering buying second hand. EDIT: I know Ableton acted how they were supposed to. If I paid a little more I would still have a license and not a -$500 balance. Nothing I guess that can be done here but be careful and don't buy secondhand. It seems like this scam is very easily enabled by ableton just revoking the transferred license when it happens. There is also nothing that I could have done differently to prevent this. The license showed up fine in my account, I paid the money after that, and still got scammed. I am very sad and disappointed that this scam is even possible. Turns out the seller did a creditcard chargeback against Ableton and disappeared, Ableton then went ahead and terminated the license that was now in my account. I got the confirmation mail from ableton that it got transferred to my account fine, I used it for a around a week until today Ableton revoked my license.
